Almost
everything that we buy we inspect. This is just part of our human
nature. However, there are times when we get in over our heads.
I took a diamond ring to have it appraised for value. To me the
diamond looked just fine, it sparkled like diamonds do. The jeweler
took the ring and placed it under a microscope. He looked up at
me and said “Do you know that this diamond has numerous flaws in
it?”. Not wanting to act too dumb about it I said “Like what?”.
He said there are numerous carbon spots and one large fracture.
He then gave me a ballpark figure as to what he thought it might
be worth. The jeweler ruined my day, but it was not the jewelers
fault. It was my fault. I had bought a diamond without having it
inspected by a professional. When you buy a home you are investing
tens of thousands of dollars of your hard earned money. You owe
it to yourself to know what you are buying. Is the roof in good
condition? What’s going on in the attic? Has there been frost there
or worse yet, not enough insulation? Many home buyers purchase homes
with all of their savings, there is nothing left over after the
down payment and the closing fees. Nothing is more disheartening
than to get moved in and have the furnace fail in the dead of winter
or, worse yet, to discover that you have a serious mold problem
that is giving you or your children allergy problems. We inspect
every home like we are going to buy this home for ourselves. We
feel that we have a moral obligation to do the best home inspection
possible. We want you to have the peace of mind that you deserve.
Home buying doesn’t have to be stressful, especially if you know
what you are buying. We guarantee that you will be pleased with
the home inspection or it’s free.
